Electrician / Electro Technician – Independent Contractor

10 Week Contract Position

Summary of Your Job

Assist on site electrician, electro technician and electrical engineer to build and wire PLC controls panels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Primary responsibilities
  2. Be safety oriented, wear Personal Protective Equipment as required;
  3. Read P&ID drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals, or other specifications to determine proper installation and operation of electrical system according to National Electrical Code;
  4. Ammend electrical drawing to reflect changes;
  5. Install and terminate wire and cables;
  6. Install, terminate, configure a variety of instruments;
  7. Wire industrial electrical controls panels or distribution panels;
  8. Clean work area, wash parts, maintain tools, and equipment, keep parts and supplies in order;


  • Required :
    1. High school diploma or GED required;
    2. One plus years of demonstrated relevant experience;
    3. Knowledge of the physics of electrical current; components used in electrical circuits; symbols and conventions used in electrical diagrams; meters and other tools used in electrical and instrumentation work; proper safety procedures; diagnosing and repairing common problems in circuits;
    4. Working knowledge of core concepts and standards of the National Electric Code (NEC), including rules for voltage, markings and signage, proper wiring connections, and placement of panelboards, and switchgears; electrical bonding and grounding;
  • Desirable
    1. Trade school certificate, associate’s degree or other post-secondary education;
    2. Knowledge of motors, including AC, DC, three-phase; series circuits and parallel circuits; functions of control switches and power supplies;
    3. Experience working with 480v power systems and Arc Flash training;
    4. CCST Level 1;
    5. Experience in :
      • Installation – Installing industrial equipment (including pumps, motors, blowers, sensors, heaters, PLCs, etc.);
      • Repairing — Repairing machines or systems;
      • Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it;
      • Startup and commissioning;
